Geberit AquaClean Alba @Heilthermen Resort Bad Waltersdorf, Austria

Bad Waltersdorf is a small village in the Austrian province of Styria with a population of just under 4,000 people. However, thanks to its thermal spa, which has been operating for 40 years, it is renowned far beyond Austria’s borders.

The Heilthermen Resort Bad Waltersdorf boasts a unique feature: the thermal spa is an integral part of the resort. ‘Touched by water’ is a nod to the mineral-rich thermal water. Guests can enjoy indoor and outdoor thermal pools, saunas and relaxation oases.

Twenty-one suites have been equipped

The toilet areas in the twenty-one suites offer a special feel-good experience. Fresh, clear water is now used for personal hygiene purposes. The hotel has installed AquaClean shower toilets in the newly created suites. “The initial plan was actually for Geberit Acanto WCs,” explains Christoph Schoberl, Sales Consultant Design and Exhibition at Geberit in Austria.

However, the Austrian Geberit sales team happened to come across the hotel’s major renovation plans and decided to pay a visit. “Among other things, we brought along a mobile device that the hotel hosts could inspect on site,” they explained.

Elegant aesthetics and simple installation

The decision-makers were soon convinced and opted for the toilet upgrade in the suites. “They were convinced, not least because it looks like a normal toilet with European aesthetics, ” says Christoph Schoberl, “and because the cleaning effort for housekeeping is no greater than with a conventional toilet.” The plumbers were also impressed. “Until then, they had only had experience with conventional toilets, so they were surprised at how easy it was to install the AquaClean Albas.” The upgrade is complemented by the DuoFresh odour extraction system, which uses a ceramic honeycomb filter to always ensure fresh air in the toilet.
