IHG expands in Oman

The Hotel Indigo Sustainable City will be a four-star hotel with 173 rooms and serviced apartments. It will feature numerous leisure facilities and beachfront access.

The hotel will be IHG’s second in Oman and is expected to be completed in the second half of 2026, and will be the second of its Hotel Indigo brand to feature in the country.

World-first sustainable city

The hotel is one of two hotels being built in the Sustainable City development, a world-first project pioneered by Oman. The city is set to be the world’s first net zero emissions community, located just 30km from central Muscat. Upon completion, it’s expected to host approximately 10,000 residents and visitors in approximately one million square metres of land.

The Sustainable City is a joint venture between Diamond Developers and Oman Tourism Development Company.

Upon completion, the city is expected to host approximately 10,000 residents and visitors, strengthening its position as an ideal destination for sustainable living in the region.

It will feature state-of-the-art facilities, urban farming, a central plaza with a mall, school and nursery, an indoor sports complex, access to a wide range of outdoor recreational activities, an equestrian centre, two hotels and 132 luxury serviced apartments under the Nikki Beach brand.
