Capella Hotels and Resorts will be launching its first resort and second property in Taiwan, anticipated to open its doors in 2028.

Inspired by local design

The resort, to be named Capella Kenting, will be located on a 99,000 sqm block along the western coastline of Taiwan’s Hengchun Peninsula in Pingtung.

Capella will be partnering with Riant Capital Limited to deliver the hotel.

“We are excited to collaborate with Riant Capital Limited and its subsidiary Win Full Co. Ltd. to bring an entirely new experience to our loyal and new guests,” shared Cristiano Rinaldi, President of Capella Hotel Group.

The property will be designed by Italian architects Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel, founders of ACPV ARCHITECTS. The duo were inspired by the local indigenous architecture and natural environment, utilising stacked stones and low walls to represent this.

“The design concept revolves around the special connection and relationship between the hotel and the ocean,” explained Antonio Citterio.

“Guests will be able to fully immerse themselves in boundless sea views and irreplaceable natural experiences.”

“This approach not only strengthens the connection between design and culture but also minimises our visual impact on the natural landscape,” added Patricia Viel.

Largest rooms in Taiwan

Capella Kenting will comprise only 65 villas, making it a low-density resort with rooms starting at 197 square metres. This makes the rooms the largest in Taiwan.

Each villa will also contain a private swimming pool, hot spring facilities, and sea views.
