The urban sanctuary will combine the energy of its surroundings with serenity in contemporary space designed by André Fu Studio according to the hotel’s concept of a modern mansion.
New luxury in Taipei
On opening in winter 2024, Capella Taipei will reflect the brand’s ethos of crafting authentic travel experiences through storytelling, which is epitomised in experiences like the immersive Capella Curates journeys organised by Capella Culturists.
Commenting on the plans, Cristiano Rinaldi, President of Capella Hotel Group, said: “We’re thrilled to unveil a new chapter of bespoke luxury in Taipei, a city that harmoniously blends cultural vibrancy with a burgeoning luxury market.”

The property will place guests close to Songshan International Airport, near Taipei Arena, and in an area that’s rich in cultural heritage, with sites such as Xingtian Temple and Taze-Neihu arts district nearby.
The hotel is being designed as an urban retreat that provides serenity in the city. The hotel was designed by André Fu Studio in consultation with the Mori Building Group from Tokyo and is positioned amid lush greenery, with views over the city and surrounding mountains.
An interpretation of the city
Through the hotel’s design, André Fu will reflect his interpretation of Taipei as ‘a modern city juxtaposing between a world of vibrancy and poetic locality’. The property will also combine the hotel brand’s vision of combining tradition and discovery with a modern narrative and unexpected twist.
“It is a re-telling of my personal journey discovering Taipei,” said André Fu. “Flaneuring around local neighbourhoods and wandering into the lush tree-lined DunHua North Road where the hotel fondly resides, I was absorbed with the poetic environment – it captures the feeling of an escape nestled within European boulevards, a soulful atmosphere that evokes an antithesis to the urbanity one might typically perceive Taipei.”
Highlights of this urban sanctuary will include its culinary offering, which is to span Authentic Cantonese cuisine with Taiwanese influences, Japanese Omakase and sustainably sourced, farm-to-table produce in French-inspired seasonal menus. The Patisserie will serve artisanal breads alongside in-house roasted coffee, and a two-storey venue will place the focus on mixology.
The hotel will also be home to the second-floor Capella Wellness where healing treatments are inspired by traditional practices. A fitness studio and outdoor heated pool are to join the spa’s four treatment rooms.
For business travellers, the hotel will encompass the Campus, which is to include a conference hall and two meeting rooms. The hotel will also cater to celebratory events with its private event hall and salon.
