Hyatt Hotels Corporation is bringing a fourth Thompson Hotel to Europe with the signing of a site in Seville, Spain.

An affiliate of the group is partnering with Hoteles Color Especial SL for Thompson Seville.

Modern luxury

The hotel’s 101 guestrooms and suites will be carefully designed and styled to make guests discover a new sense of modern luxury.

Thompson Seville will also boast a restaurant, a rooftop bar with a pool, dedicated meeting rooms, coworking space and a gym.

Four by four

This property will mark the first Hyatt hotel in the fourth-largest city in Spain, and one of the most attractive locations in the southern European country, which is the second-largest tourist destination in the world.

Anticipated to open in 2026, the luxury lifestyle property will join the pipeline alongside the previously-announced Thompson Rome, expected to open mid-2024, and Thompson Vienna, which is slated to join the Hyatt portfolio in 2025. The first European Thompson, Thompson Madrid, opened in 2022.

Vast potential

Javier Águila, group president, EAME, Hyatt, said: “We have ambitious plans for our brand expansion in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, and today’s announcement is a true testament to our continued success in strengthening our position and ever-growing brand footprint in the region.

“We are honoured to work with Hoteles Color Especial S.L. as we start our journey in a new city for Hyatt – the vibrant Seville, in which we aim to create yet another unique and luxurious experience for leisure travellers. The Thompson Hotels brand has a vast potential in our region, and particularly in cities that combine a strong leisure and lifestyle offering.”

Pivotal plans

With 18 Thompson Hotels currently open across 16 cities globally, plans for Thompson Seville are pivotal to the brand’s growth plans and continues Hyatt’s growth momentum across the most sought-after destinations in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

Hyatt’s Spanish portfolio spans 11 different brands. The group’s national pipeline includes two sites in the Canary Islands on Lanzarote, both due in 2025: the 250-key Grand Hyatt Lanzarote and the 200-key Alila Lanzarote.
