IHG Hotels & Resorts is extending its partnership with Dinso Resort Co Ltd, one year on from Dinso Resort & Villas Phuket, Vignette Collection converting into IHG’s system.

Opening in Q3 2024, the 166-room Dinso Resort & Villas Koh Chang, Vignette Collection joins Dinso Resort & Villas Phuket, Vignette Collection and Sindhorn Midtown Bangkok, Vignette Collection as Thai properties featured within IHG’s first collection brand.

Extensive renovation

Dinso Resort & Villas Koh Chang, Vignette Collection is rebranding from the former Emerald Resort Koh Chang to enter IHG’s system in 2024 following extensive renovation and closure since February 2023. It is a beachfront property located on Klong Prao Beach on the Eastern side of Koh Chang.

Facilities include five restaurants and bars, 750 sq m of meeting spaces, swimming pool, spa and fitness centre.

Conversion trend

Saowarin Chanprakaisi, senior director, development, southeast Asia and Korea, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said: “It’s fantastic to be extending our partnership with the Dinso Resort team one year on from our first collaboration in Phuket which saw Dinso Resort & Villas Phuket, Vignette Collection benefit from IHG’s scale and enterprise quickly.

“We are seeing the conversion trend continue in Thailand, across the region and globally. In the first half of 2023 around 40% of our global openings and signings were conversions while in Thailand, 50% of our hotel openings this year are conversions. It’s exciting to be welcoming high-quality properties into our system, across a range of brands, as owners are keen to partner with us and access the power of IHG’s systems.”

Great fit

Pattranit Mahattanawisit, MD, Dinso Resort Co Ltd, added: “The IHG team has been a great partner through the conversion of Dinso Resort & Villas Phuket, Vignette Collection and we believe the brand is a great fit for our properties, enabling us to retain the unique experiences and services the hotels provide while benefiting from IHG’s global and local expertise and enterprise.

“Koh Chang is a wonderful destination that enables visitors to enjoy a different type of beach experience, that is more laid back and relaxing, and far from the bustle of the city. I’m looking forward to debuting the brand in this island destination, introducing more international and domestic travellers to a largely undiscovered gem of Thailand.”

Century target

Set to reach 100 properties in 10 years, Vignette Collection provides the next generation of luxury and lifestyle travellers with stays in destinations to remember, enhanced with authentically storied experiences.

The global Vignette Collection portfolio has 18 hotels in the pipeline, and In Thailand is expected to welcome the 234-key Vignette Collection Aquatique Pattaya in Q3 2026 and the 63-key Vignette Collection Bangkok Chinatown in Q1 2027.
