The NH Collection brand of Minor Hotels is entering the Maldives with the August 2023 opening of NH Collection Maldives Havodda Resort.

The brand’s first property outside an urban location will provide a luxury retreat encompassing beach and overwater villas in the Maldives’ Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll.

Strategic growth

This August, NH Collection Maldives Havodda Resort will begin to welcome guests to its 120 beach and overwater villas, which are joined by a wealth of upscale amenities. The opening signifies the strengthening of this brand’s presence as it enters new regions, with a particular focus on Asia Pacific and the Middle East.

Dillip Rajakarier, Group CEO of Minor International and CEO of Minor Hotels, commented: “We are pleased to grow our NH Collection brand and bring it to the Maldives for the first time.”

“The continued expansion of Minor Hotels and particularly NH Collection into strategic tourism hotspots across Asia and the Middle East is positioning the brand as a key global player. We expect NH Collection Maldives Havodda Resort to become a sought after destination in this idyllic part of the world.”

An island retreat

Guests staying in the new resort’s ocean-view villas will be able to make the most of amenities including an Asian concept spa, fully equipped gym, kids’ club, swimming pool and pool bar. Activities will be offered at the water sports and dive center.

These leisure facilities will also be joined by a culinary offering including an all-day dining experience with international cuisine, a beachfront grill, a poolside pizza concept and a cocktail bar.

This will be the seventh property operated by Minor Hotels in the Maldives. Several more debuts are also on the horizon for NH Collection, including hotels in Chiang Mai and Luang Prabang and several locations in China. Properties are also currently under development in Qatar and the UAE.
