UK-based hospitality firm, the Beckford Group, is to open its first hotel in autumn this year in the county of Wiltshire, England.

Teffont House will be situated in the historic village of Teffont Evias in the Nadder Valley.

Historic property

The group has taken on what was previously Howard’s House hotel – a traditional stone building originally constructed in 1623.

The property will have 16 ensuite bedrooms, a walled garden (which will grow produce for the kitchen and bar), a new orangery dining room and a mini Bramley spa within the grounds.

New chapter

This acquisition will mark a new chapter for the group, which already has The Beckford Bottle Shop and Beckford Canteen in Bath, UK, along with four country inns with rooms dotted across the counties of Wiltshire and Somerset.

Beckford Group is run by co-founders Dan Brod, Charlie Luxton and Matt Greenlees.

Group profile

The company is a collection of hospitality businesses in the southwest of England. The four inns with rooms are traditional, yet contemporary and sit in areas of natural beauty.

The Bottle Shop is a modern-day wine merchant with old-fashioned values which sells wine in a sociable and inspiring environment. There is also a bistro attached which has a menu of small plates.

Bramley, a side-arm to the group, produces a sustainable range of bath and body products inspired by the countryside. It was founded by Chloë Luxton who originally created the range for the group’s first inn, The Beckford Arms.
