Accor has signed a management agreement for a new dual-branded hotel in Thailand’s capital, Bangkok.

Mercure & ibis Bangkok Siam Ratchathewi is slated to open in 2025 further strengthening the group’s midscale and economy network in Southeast Asia.

Multiple mixed use

The twin-branded site will be part of a vertical mixed-use development including offices and retail spaces, strategically located at the busy Ratchathewi intersection.

The Mercure hotel will comprise 200 rooms while the ibis hotel will offer 154 rooms, boasting a comfortable hotel concept, a vibrant atmosphere, and convenient amenities. Shared public areas include a restaurant, lobby bar and lounge, pool bar, swimming pool, gym, kids’ club, and two meeting rooms.

Distinct experiences

Garth Simmons, CEO Accor Southeast Asia, Japan and South Korea, said: “With increasing demand for hotels with high standards of safety, hygiene and service at an affordable price, the Mercure & ibis Bangkok Siam Ratchathewi is sure to offer an attractive offering to visitors and locals.

“We are very much looking forward to introducing Accor’s third dual-branded hotel concept in Thailand, allowing for two distinct experiences under one roof. Our locally inspired Mercure brand encourages travellers to immerse in the destination and local stories, while our popular lifestyle economy brand, ibis, is ideal for budget savvy travellers seeking a casual hotel concept.”

Accor across Thailand

Accor currently operates 372 hotels in Southeast Asia, Japan and South Korea, with 83 hotels operating in Thailand under 11 brands.

The group has a strong pipeline of 18 hotels currently under development in Thailand, including three in Phuket province: the 236-room MGallery Residences Montazure Lakeside arriving in Q4 2024; Novotel Phuket Naiharn Beach bringing a massive 650 keys online in Q2 2025; and Tribe Phuket, delivering 200 rooms in 2025.
