Trieste aparthotel Residence del Mare (Casa Minelli) is to be refurbished after Austrian group JP Hospitality Investors Club purchased the property.

The historic Italian house is in good condition, so the refit will essentially focus on lifestyle refurbishment.

Modern suit

Residence del Mare Casa Minelli has around 40 apartments, each with a kitchen-living room, and is suited to modern short- and long-stay hospitality accommodation.

The building is located in a residential area, a few metres from the old town centre’s pedestrian area. The famous Piazza Unità d’Italia, the seafront promenade and the port can be reached on foot in a few minutes.

Contemporary redesign

JP Hospitality Investors Club believes the residence meets its desired conditions and fits well into a series of recently acquired hotels. The firm’s managing partner and CEO Lukas Euler-Rolle said: “With a clear concept, we will redesign an existing structure in a contemporary way and develop it into a hip lifestyle apartment hotel.”

Daniel Jelitzka, founder of JP Immobilien Gruppe and chairman of the advisory board of JP Hospitality, emphasised: “Trieste is a unique city with a special charisma and offers a lot of catching up potential with its culture, history and gastronomy. With a new hip apartment hotel, we will cover the highly sought-after lifestyle segment here, as we have done at other locations before.”

While Gebhard Schachermayer, CAM and hotel expert at JP Hospitality, added: “The ideal location of the apartment hotel offers guests the opportunity to experience Trieste and the unique gastronomy offer on foot.”

In the club

The JP Hospitality Investors Club is an owner-managed investor group based in Vienna. Founded in the summer of 2021, the club intends to invest around €300 million over a period of 24 months to purchase and renovate leisure and city hotels in major European cities and premium leisure regions.

Casa Minelli Residence del Mare is the firm’s fifth recent addition after acquisitions in Kitzbühel, Mallorca and Rotterdam and Madonna di Campiglio.

The JP real estate group currently owns 15 hotels, six of which are in the development phase and eight already in operation, with around 2,300 rooms in European cities and leisure destinations. PKF hospitality group acts as an exclusive advisor to JP Hospitality Investors Club.
