Naviva, A Four Seasons Resort, Punta Mita, Mexico is set to open in December, 2022, as the brand’s first adult-only luxury tented resort in the Americas.

Now accepting reservations, the forthcoming property promises to afford connections with the natural environment it’s surrounded by.

A connection to nature

Four Seasons’ soon-to-open nature retreat in Punta Mita will host guests in 15 luxury tents set amid 48 acres of forest, just 45 minutes from Puerto Vallarta International Airport, on a private peninsula overlooking the Pacific Ocean with the intention of fostering community, personal growth and knowledge enhancement.

“Naviva is an ambitious new resort concept that offers highly individualised service and innovative design that brings guests closer to nature than ever before,” said Vince Parrotta, Four Seasons president of hotel operations, Americas West.

“With the debut of this exceptionally personalised retreat, guests will interface one-on-one with knowledgeable guides during thoughtful experiences that embrace the culture and character of Mexico.”

The tented suites are designed by Luxury Frontiers with amenities including private plunge pools. The design throughout is inspired by biophilia.

“Our location tucked in a cliffside forest creates the feeling of being disconnected in a faraway destination, when in reality, we’re only a short flight away from the US,” said Ronny Fernandez, resort manager at Naviva, A Four Seasons Resort.

“Our untamed natural setting organically encourages guests to embark on their own personal journeys.”

An immersion into the natural setting

On arrival, guests will be met by their guide on a cocoon-inspired bridge overlooking a forest ravine. The connection to nature will continue throughout the stay with each tent’s indoor-outdoor space referencing the environment with features including an open-air living room, hammock and outdoor shower.

Curating a transformative experience, the resort will immerse guests in the locale through activities ranging from sampling small-batch Mexican coffees and stargazing to nocturnal forest bathing, sound therapy, sunset rituals and visiting local artist Jose Juan Esparza at his studio.

Wellness experiences will then be offered in two spa pods, a traditional Mexican temazcal, an outdoor gym, Alma Pool and the private beachfront. The cocoon-like spa pods were inspired by the seed of the local Ceiba tree and all holistic treatments will harness the benefits of indigenous ingredients. Workout sessions will include cliffside sessions and scenic hiking.

During their stay, guests can dine, socialise and unwind at ocean-view Copal combining the feel of a living room and kitchen with wood-fired cuisine served from an open-air kitchen.

Guests staying here will also have full access to the adjacent Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, which comprises 10 restaurants and bars, two golf courses, three pools, two beaches and spa and fitness facilities.
