JW Marriott Hotel São Paulo provides an urban retreat within Brazil’s largest metropolis.

Embodying the hospitality brand’s focus on mindful principles, this new hotel will cater for guests looking to nourish the mind, body and spirit.

Entry to Brazil’s largest city

The first Marriott International luxury hotel in São Paulo, this JW Marriott property is now welcoming guests at Parque da Cidade in the heart of the city.

The 258-key hotel brings together stylish accommodation featuring contemporary architecture and custom-made furnishings with wellness facilities and social venues for both guests and locals.

“JW Marriott offers guests a legacy of luxury hospitality combined with principles of mindfulness that are integral to today’s business and leisure traveller,” said Bruce Rohr, global brand leader, JW Marriott.

“Located in the country’s largest city, leisure and business travellers seeking an urban retreat will find a modern, luxurious and wellness-focused setting at the new JW Marriott Hotel São Paulo.”

Brian King, Marriott International’s president in the Caribbean and Latin America, added: “We are excited to expand Marriott’s presence in Brazil with the opening of the stunning JW Marriott Hotel São Paulo, our first luxury hotel in the city.”

“The arrival of JW Marriott in São Paulo reinforces our commitment and vision for the region and will complement our existing offering with a renowned, global luxury brand known for catering to sophisticated, mindful travellers seeking the anticipatory service for which JW Marriott is known.”

Designed for guests and locals

The hotel was designed according to research in Brazilian architecture, landscaping, craftsmanship and natural resources, with the U.S. based architecture firm HKS, Inc. then developing design elements featuring throughout the property.

The architect Sérgio Santana is behind the hotel’s landscape design and Burle Marx and Antonio Malt are among the artists who’ve created artwork exclusively for the site. A custom installation mimics the night sky in the lobby.

Highlights of this new hotel include the Italian restaurant, Neto, where the dishes of chef Ícaro Rizzo, combining Italian cooking with local ingredients, are served in a two-storey hall featuring Brazilian wood and marble detail. This restaurant is joined by the centrepiece of the lobby, Bar Caju, offering cocktails with traditional Brazilian ingredients.

The hotel’s serene spa, featuring natural textures and a colour palette of earth tones, offers indulgent therapies incorporating indigenous fruits and flowers. Wellness facilities here include a fitness centre, yoga room, steam room and indoor-outdoor pool. Also, catering for events, the property houses a 10,000-sq-ft Convention Centre encompassing six private rooms.

Commenting on the property, Rosana Okamoto, general manager of the hotel, said: “JW Marriott Hotel São Paulo is an oasis in the heart of the city. The property will offer programmes that encourage its guests to take care of the mind, nourish the body and revitalise the soul.”

“In addition, the hotel seeks to redefine the concept of luxury in this metropolis, with world-class services, loyalty to the local culture, providing a welcome respite from the concrete jungle that surrounds it.”
