The Brooklyn brand is expanding to Leicester in June 2022 following the success of the award-winning Hotel Brooklyn, Manchester, which opened in 2020.
The 191-key hotel will place guests adjacent to the Welford Road Stadium, home of the Leicester Tigers, with design inspiration taken from its namesake New York borough.
Growth of the Hotel Brooklyn brand
Just like its sister property in Manchester, Hotel Brooklyn in Leicester is designed by SquidInc, with special features and accessible spaces created by Motionspot.
Public areas at the Leicester hotel will include a restaurant, bar, working space and Grandstand for watching films or live sport, as well as three event rooms featuring state-of-the-art audio visual equipment and lighting.
Accommodation will then range from skyline suites and rooms with hot tub terraces to executive rooms featuring free-standing bathtubs. Some of the hotel’s rooms will also be dog-friendly.
“The opening of Hotel Brooklyn, Leicester is probably more exciting than opening our first hotel in Manchester,” said Paul Bayliss MBE, regional general manager of the Hotel Brooklyn Brand, Bespoke Hotels Ltd.
”The hotel has all of what the Brooklyn brand stands for, plus a magnificent array of public spaces. I’m certain Leicester will be very pleased indeed.”
A new social hub
The hotel’s rooms and suites reflect inspiration taken from Brooklyn’s loft spaces, with furnishings including burgundy leather upholstered beds and desk chairs covered in soft fabrics. Each room has a feature wall inspired by the work of artist M.C. Escher.
Guests first arrive in the atrium reception area representing the look and feel of a Brooklyn neighbourhood with its red brick walls, ‘ghost’ signage and exposed steel gantries.
The Lair will become the social hub of the hotel with its open-plan bar, restaurant and living area that also provides space for working. This is also the setting for the stepped seating area of The Grandstand hosting social movie and acoustic nights.
Guests will be able to lounge in the sofas and armchairs surrounding this Grandstand area while listening to records from the in-house collection. The restaurant linking onto the social area’s central bar then acts as a theatre-style Kitchen & Servery.
The property has been designed with accessibility in mind and is home to 10 fully-accessible and six ambulant-accessible bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms, all designed by Motionspot. Each accessible room has an adjoining room for carers if needed.
