An inspirational scheme to convert a beautiful national heritage monument into an upper-upscale hotel in Georgia’s capital has become our latest Project of the Week.
This forthcoming Hyatt Regency property will combine beautiful architecture with an array of high-end amenities.
A historic conversion
After striking a management agreement with Rustaveli Property, part of Loyal Capital Group, Hyatt Hotels Corporation is currently helping to convert a national heritage monument into a Hyatt Regency hotel. Also involved are Aecom (project manager), ReardonSmith Architects (architecture) and Spectrum (architecture and interior design).
Now under construction, Hyatt Regency Tbilisi will occupy the former Ministry of Justice building in the downtown area of Georgia’s capital. On completion, the hotel promises to cultivate connections while offering memorable dining experiences, stimulating recreational facilities and inspirational meeting services.

Altogether, this new Hyatt Regency property will comprise 170 luxurious guestrooms and suites, along with four dining and drinking outlets, a spa and a fitness centre. Catering for both business and leisure travellers, it’ll also encompass more than 8,100 sq ft of meeting and event space, including a ballroom.
Set within this prestigious address, the hotel will place guests on one of the capital city’s most prominent streets, Rustaveli Avenue. The long-awaited property is pencilled in to open in the third quarter of 2023.
