The world’s largest hotel franchisor is set to unveil its first property in the country – the upscale Wyndham Wroclaw Old Town, which will be managed by Mogotel Hotel Group.
This forthcoming hotel lies at the heart of historic Wroclaw, one of the largest cities in western Poland and a home to renowned universities and research centres.
Venturing into new markets
Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is continuing its global expansion and will make its long-awaited debut in Poland with the opening of Wyndham Wroclaw Old Town in early February 2022. The 205-room upscale property will be managed by Mogotel Hotel Group.
Christian Michel, vice president of development in Europe for Wyndham Hotels & Resorts EMEA, said: “We are delighted to be launching our first hotel in Poland with our upscale Wyndham brand in collaboration with Mogotel. Poland is a country with strong development potential and a plethora of destinations that attract and suit different types of travellers.
“With favourable economic conditions and a large domestic demand, Poland brings exciting opportunities for our industry and perfectly fits our growth strategy for Europe.”
Ivans Dokicans, head of development and board member of Mogotel Hotel Group, added: “Wroclaw is a beautiful and historic city and we are proud to debut the Wyndham brand in the city. Wyndham Wroclaw Old Town will mark our second property in collaboration with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts following the opening of Wyndham Garden Munich Messe in Germany and we look forward to the continuation of our fruitful partnership.”
An appealing base for business and leisure
Wyndham Wroclaw Old Town will encompass a range of F&B outlets, including a gourmet restaurant and cosy lounge and bar, along with 11 meeting rooms accommodating up to 400 people in total. There’ll also be a top-floor wellness area, complete with state-of-the-art fitness room, sauna and steam bath.
The hotel is ideally located, just ten miles from Wroclaw’s International Copernicus Airport, and within easy reach of the picturesque Old Town’s landmarks and attractions. This property is the latest addition to Wyndham’s growing European portfolio, which now encompasses over 350 operational hotels across 30 countries, with over 90 more in the pipeline.
In related news, Dimitris Manikis, president, EMEA, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, recently told our editor-in-chief Richard Frost that the way the company dealt with the pandemic actually helped its pipeline, not least by demonstrating the resilience of Wyndham’s business model to prospective clients.
