Over the next few years, Choice Hotels International will grow its offering by 37 hotels and 4,962 keys, according to our researchers. We find out more.
Choice’s growth plans
In what little remains of this year, no fewer than four Choice properties with 482 rooms are due to go live.
Things will quieten down a little in 2022, with 13 projects and 1,688 keys scheduled to complete in total. Then in 2023, another eight hotels with 1,078 rooms will open their doors, followed by 12 schemes and 1,714 keys in 2024 and beyond.
All 37 projects at the prolific hotel franchisor, which is headquartered at Rockland in Maryville, involve sites in North America.
Three noteworthy Choice schemes
First, let’s take a look at Cambria Hotel Detroit, which will open by mid-2022. Located at 600 W Lafayette Boulevard, the 154-room scheme will be just a short drive away from major employers like Ford, General Motors and Chrysler. The hotel’s proximity to Wayne State University, Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit Medical Center and Tech Town, the city’s urban technology and research centre, also promises to make it an appealing option for those travelling to Michigan on business.
In Q4 2022, the 144-key Cambria Hotel Alpharetta will open as part of a mixed-use development known as Mayfair at Webb Bridge on the outskirts of Georgia’s state capital, Atlanta. Several leading technology corporations have offices nearby, making this scheme ideal for corporate guests, although it’s also close to the charming Main Street in downtown Alpharetta, known for its dining, cultural and shopping attractions. Onsite, guests will find an indoor swimming pool, restaurant, flexible meeting space and fitness centre.
Last but not least, Cambria Hotel Orlando will open in the heart of the Floridian city, although an exact opening date has yet to be determined. The 155-key property will feature a resort pool and patio lounge area, more than 4,500 sq ft of multifunctional meeting space and a modern gym. There’ll also be a restaurant offering a menu rich in local specialties, signature cocktails and craft beers, plus freshly prepared grab-and-go gourmet salads and sandwiches.
