An exciting 250-key newbuild scheme, Rosewood Riyadh is slated to open as part of the Diriyah Gate mixed-use development in Saudi Arabia’s capital in 2025.

This property will provide an array of lifestyle experiences in a site that promises to become one of the country’s leading cultural and lifestyle destinations.

An inspiring setting

As part of the Diriyah Gate mixed-use project, the 2025-opening Rosewood Riyadh will offer a convenient option for guests to stay adjacent to the Unesco World Heritage-listed At-Turaif, attracting both leisure and business travellers with its luxury hospitality offering. It’s set to become only the brand’s second property in Saudi Arabia after Rosewood Jeddah, and fourth in the Middle East, with Rosewood Abu Dhabi and Rosewood Doha expected to launch in 2022.

“We are thrilled to further our presence in the Middle East with an opening in Riyadh, a historic trade hub and exemplar of 21st-century vision that is now a major destination for international business and cultural exploration,” said Sonia Cheng, CEO of Rosewood Hotel Group. “The Diriyah Gate development is bringing the destination to an expanded international audience of discerning travellers and we’re excited to be a part of the city’s continued evolution and commitment to redeveloping heritage areas for future generations.”

Jerry Inzerillo, group CEO of Diriyah Gate Development Authority, added: “Rosewood will bring a level of refinement to Diriyah, mirroring the past whilst providing guests with the excitement of the future, in the same way Diriyah will lead travellers from Saudi’s historical past to the present.

“The exclusive nature of the Rosewood experience will bring excitement to Diriyah through the development of their renowned wellness offerings, famed Explorers Club and F&B talent. Guests will be immersed in a cultural journey spanning the centuries through the joint efforts of Diriyah and the Rosewood team; we are excited to unveil more in the coming months.”

A new lifestyle destination

While staying at this newbuild hotel, guests will be able to explore Saudi Arabia’s wealth of forts, palaces, museums and markets, as well as the Unesco World Heritage-listed At-Turaif. The 250-key property will comprise 202 guestrooms and 48 Wadi Suites, along with four restaurants and bars, the Asaya wellbeing concept, the Rosewood Explorers children’s club, a state-of-the-art fitness centre and expansive event space including a ballroom.

Among the many amenities being planned at Diriyah Gate are a culinary centre, cinema and art academy, with buildings that reinterpret the Najdi style. Overall, the development aims to revitalise the area for locals and visitors, while also protecting its heritage.
