Stylish new Manchester hotel switches from Qbic to Yotel

The former Qbic Manchester scheme has been rebranded to Yotel Manchester Deansgate just months after opening, following the building’s acquisition by Tristan Capital Partners.

A major new hotel in one of the UK’s biggest cities has been reflagged.

Yotel takes over from Qbic

The former Qbic Manchester, prominently located on the corner of Deansgate and John Dalton Street, has now become the latest outpost of Yotel. It marks the culmination of a whirlwind few months for the building, which only opened as a Qbic-branded hotel in May 2021 after the completion of a three-year programme to convert it from offices. In October, Tristan Capital Partners’ EPISO 5 Fund then snapped up the property and selected Hamilton Hotel Partners to operate it as a Yotel scheme.

As well as 261 keys, the hotel boasts a gym occupied by Trib3 and a ground-floor restaurant and bar with outdoor terrace. It represents Yotel’s 18th hotel worldwide, sitting alongside the likes of San Francisco, New York, Miami, Amsterdam, Porto and Singapore.

Frank Croston, partner at Hamilton Hotel Partners, said: “Hamilton Hotel Partners is delighted to have partnered with Tristan Capital Partners in the acquisition of the hotel and to be operating Yotel’s latest addition to its UK portfolio going forward. Yotel Manchester Deansgate enjoys an excellent location in a market recovering strongly; our team at the hotel are thrilled to see this hotel take the next step with a well-known global brand.”

Hubert Viriot, Yotel CEO, added: “We’re delighted that Manchester is the location of our newest hotel. Home to world- famous football clubs, Europe’s fastest growing tech hub and a vibrant economic powerhouse, the city has always been high on our agenda. Manchester resonates perfectly with ‘Generation Yo’ and is a great addition to our other UK hotels in London, Edinburgh and Glasgow.”

A hotel packed with sustainable features

Ranging in size from 15 to 26 sq m, the 261 cabins (rooms) at Yotel Manchester Deansgate come equipped with organic Naturalmat mattresses, superfast wifi and large TVs. The hotel also has a plethora of sustainable features, including solar panels, water-saving showers and energy-efficient LED lighting that turns off automatically when not required.

Ground-floor restaurant and bar Motley, which benefits from its own outdoor terrace, serves ingredient-led dishes that are low-mileage, homely and seasonal from lunch till late, plus draught beer from local breweries including its own lager, cocktails and wine. There’s also a karaoke pod and private dining options.

Boutique gym Trib3 specialises in providing 45-minute, high-intensity classes led by expert coaches across a three-zoned studio, accompanied by an onsite protein bar and luxe changing rooms. And the hotel has four separate meeting spaces, with doors offering direct access to Motley’s terrace and Deansgate.

The EPISO 5 Fund was advised by Greenberg Traurig, PwC, Workman and HVS.
