The eye-catching Chablé Maroma wellness retreat, situated on a pristine beach on the Quintana Roo coastline, is the focus for our latest TOPHOTELDESIGN exclusive.
This luxury beach resort in the Riviera Maya certainly stands out from the crowd thanks to its extraordinary design.
A strong connection to nature
Hamak Hotels opened Chablé Maroma in 2018 as the second Chablé property within its portfolio, following on from Chablé Resort & Spa Yucatan. This luxury beach resort in the jungle pairs a focus on wellness with sustainability and contemporary design that connects guests with the surrounding environment.
The breath-taking location has clearly influenced the thinking of architect Javier Fernandez, with the property making extensive use of natural materials and a calming colour palette.
Referencing Mayan traditions
Guests are accommodated across 70 spacious thatched villas, complete with pools, outdoor terraces and access to the property’s 650 ft private beach. These villas incorporate rainforest-inspired features by interior designer Paulina Moran, while also referencing historic Mayan traditions.
Elsewhere, a 17,000 sq ft spa has been established to help travellers unwind. Built around a sacred amate tree, it’s home to a range of high-end amenities, not least three hydrotherapy pools, and promotes the importance of living in harmony with nature and honouring cultural traditions.
Chablé Maroma’s gastronomic offering includes the strikingly designed Bu’ul restaurant, with its forest canopy-like ceiling; the poolside restaurant Kaban, incorporating the colours of the ocean; and the Raw Bar, with plentiful outdoor seating.
TUUCI supplies this remarkable property’s outdoor furnishings.
