Designed by Jean-Michel Gathy of Denniston, Aman New York will breathe new life into Manhattan’s historic Crown Building when it opens later this year.

Only Aman’s third US property, this highly anticipated scheme in the heart of the Big Apple will contain 83 hotel guestrooms and suites, along with the first urban Aman Residences.

Transformation of a landmark

Coinciding with the Crown Building’s 100th anniversary, Aman New York is set to open in the third quarter of 2021. This striking landmark at the crossroads of 57th and 5th Street has been transformed by the celebrated architect Jean-Michel Gathy of Denniston to pay homage to its architecturally impressive setting.

In leading the transformation of this 1921-built neoclassical beaux arts building, Gathy has fused the character of the site, which was the first home of the Museum of Modern Art, with the Aman spirit and nods to the brand’s Asian roots. The hotel promises to deliver the level of service that Aman has become known for with world-class dining, exclusive entertainment venues and the tranquility of Aman Spa.

Bringing the Aman lifestyle to Manhattan

The development will comprise 83 rooms and suites, each featuring a functioning fireplace and starting at 70 sq m in size, along with 22 one- to six-bedroom branded private residences – including a five-storey penthouse.

Designed with interaction in mind, facilities here will span three principal dining venues, a jazz club, the Aman Club for members, the 2,300 sq m Aman Spa and a holistic Aman Wellness offering. Residents will have a private entrance to the spa, as well as management and concierge services and lifetime membership to Aman Club.

In the US, Aman New York joins Amangiri and Amangani. This stylish hotel is the result of a collaboration between Aman and Crown Invest.
