Deutsche Hospitality is set to open a four-star IntercityHotel property as part of a major mixed-use regeneration scheme in the German city of Karlsruhe.
The IntercityHotel Karlsruhe scheme has been earmarked for a well-located site next to the city’s main railway station.
An appealing base for discovering Karlsruhe
When it opens in the second quarter of 2023, IntercityHotel Karlsruhe will represent a key component of the new high-end complex KA DREI, which will also include two office buildings, retail space, an underground car park and a café.
The hotel itself will comprise 194 guestrooms, a restaurant and a bar, all designed by Matteo Thun. These facilities will be joined by generous events space that spans 233 sq m and four separate conference rooms.
From the hotel, both the Karlsruhe Trade Fair Centre and Congress Centre will be easily accessible on foot. Guests will also be able to visit the city’s old quarter by public transport free of charge throughout their stay, owing to IntercityHotel’s FreeCityTicket scheme.
Part of Deutsche Hospitality’s growing network
Hamburg-based companies Qcoon Real Estate and Fortoon Development are collaborating on the project development and construction management of the KA DREI building complex.
“We are delighted to be adding a further hotel to our presence in Baden-Württemberg,” said Christian Kaschner, managing director of IntercityHotel. “Karlsruhe is home to the Federal Court of Justice and is also Germany’s first Unesco City of Media Arts. It is an important destination for business travellers, creative artists and cultural professionals.”
“The KA DREI office and hotel complex is the largest construction project in Karlsruhe presently,” added Marco Daedelow, managing director of Qcoon Real Estate. “We are very pleased to have found a strong partner in IntercityHotel, with whom we have concluded a long-term lease.”
