This resort, which is to be built on the site of the former Hotel Macedonia, promises to offer picture-postcard views across to the historic city of Dubrovnik.
New levels of luxury hotel design
Aman’s 50-key, newbuild resort is set to take shape in the sleepy fishing town of Cavtat, neighbouring Dubrovnik, in the far south-western corner of Croatia. The scheme is expected to set a new standard for excellence in hotel design for the country, according to Luxury Travel Magazine.
Guests can look forward to discovering a blend of architectural styles that use local materials and draw on the beauty of the landscape. Elastic Architercts is behind this exciting development’s architecture.
Fitting in with the heritage and landscape
The creation of this project follows a €50 million investment from Petros Stathis, a Greek businessman who also owns and operates Aman Sveti Stefan in Montenegro and Aman Grand Canal in Venice.
Stathis is known for his passion restoring and developing luxury resorts that fit in harmoniously with the surrounding heritage and natural environment. Here, his vision is to create a hotel that acts as an observatory framing views over Dubrovnik.
Cavtat has long attracted travellers who are interested in history, not least because it boasts the Renaissance mansion Rector’s Palace and baroque masterpiece St Nicholas Church.
The Aman Cavtat project hopes to stimulate this area’s economy, while creating hundreds of jobs within the community, to ultimately leave a positive legacy. The expected completion date has yet to be announced.
