Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Salter Brothers have announced the opening of Hyatt Regency Brisbane following the rebrand of an existing property, paving the way for a refurbishment.
Chicago-headquartered hospitality giant Hyatt Hotels Corporation has made its debut in Brisbane. We find out more about this striking downtown hotel.
Expanding Hyatt’s footprint in Australia
Hyatt Regency Brisbane marks both the company’s first foray into the city, as well as its eighth property across Australia.
Set in the city’s busy downtown area, in the Queen Street Mall pedestrian zone, the new 292-room hotel is likely to appeal to a broad clientele. Rebranded from an existing property, it’ll now undergo some renovation work to enhance its public areas, guestrooms, event spaces and dining venues.
The scheme is the first project between Hyatt and Salter Brothers, an Australian-owned global fund-management business with a focus on hotels, property, private equity and credit.
“We are grateful to work with Salter Brothers on the first Hyatt hotel in Brisbane and look forward to bringing the premium service and energising experiences that the Hyatt Regency brand is known for to this vibrant city,” said David Udell, group president, Asia-Pacific, Hyatt.
“Hyatt has had a brand presence in Australia for more than 30 years. With Brisbane being one of the fastest growing cities in Australia, Hyatt Regency Brisbane is a strategic addition to our growing portfolio in the country, complementing our current and future hotels in key destinations such as Sydney and Melbourne.”
An outstanding downtown destination for Hyatt
The hotel is ideally located close to the city’s central business district, as well as numerous leisure, retail and dining options. It’s also only a 15-minute walk from Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, making it an attractive proposition for event attendees.
After a day of work or exploring the city, guests can relax by the outdoor infinity pool and sip drinks at the bar on the fourth floor, or work up a sweat at the 24-hour gym. Back in their rooms, they’ll find lots of modern amenities suited to the needs of today’s travellers, including walk-in showers and comfortable workstations.
“We are excited to be working with Hyatt to position the new Hyatt Regency Brisbane as the best premium upscale hotel in the Brisbane market,” said Paul Salter, managing director, Salter Brothers. “With our commitment to a new investment in this hotel, its excellent location, well-appointed guest rooms, atmospheric pool terrace with an infinity pool, and Hyatt’s renowned restaurant and bar offerings, we fully expect Hyatt Regency Brisbane on the Queen Street Mall to be the city’s hotel destination of choice for both business and leisure travellers alike.”
