Deutsche Hospitality is planning to grow its footprint across the Netherlands with the development of a new IntercityHotel property in Leiden.
Currently slated to make its debut in 2023, IntercityHotel’s forthcoming site in Leiden, South Holland will provide an attractive place for visitors to stay over.
A new base for business and leisure travellers
On opening, this 115-room IntercityHotel Leiden Octagon in the west of the country will introduce business and leisure travellers to a location that’s steeped in culture – and within easy reach of Amsterdam, The Hague and Rotterdam.

“It is also home to the oldest university in the Netherlands, and the tulip was introduced to western Europe for the first time at the city’s Botanical Gardens. The concept for the new IntercityHotel fits in perfectly with this environment. It combines high-end design with a range of impressive and innovative services which are unique in the upper-midscale sector.”
An exciting development for Leiden
IntercityHotel’s latest property will benefit from a central location that’s just a short walk away from the old area of the city, and at the heart of the newbuild Octagon development being created around Leiden Central Station. The hotel will be operated through a lease agreement between STAG Hotels Netherlands and project developer Synchroon.
Here, the hotel’s 115 guest rooms will be joined by a restaurant, BistroLounge and lobby. In line with all new-generation IntercityHotels, the interiors will be designed by Italian architect Matteo Thun.
This new hotel in Leiden will be the brand’s fourth property in the Netherlands, joining IntercityHotel Enschede; IntercityHotel Amsterdam Airport, which is planned for 2021; and the recently announced IntercityHotel Breda.
