The much-awaited Canopy by Hilton Old Town Scottsdale opens its doors

Hilton Worldwide's boutique Canopy brand has elevated the hospitality landscape in Scottsdale, Arizona with its latest opening.

Hilton Worldwide’s boutique Canopy brand has elevated the hospitality landscape in Scottsdale, Arizona with its latest opening.

Hilton Worldwide‘s boutique Canopy brand has landed in Old Town Scottsdale, the neighbourhood’s first new hotel in over a decade. Located on the north-east corner of First Street and Marshall Way, the 177-room property is a vibrant offering that general manager Devin Mahoney says ‘will become a gathering place for locals and guests alike’.

A vibrant eating and drinking scene

Along with around 2,000 sq m of meeting and event space, the hotel also lifts the area’s dining scene with the debut of two new restaurants, helmed by Valley Chef Patrick Gaudet.

On the ground floor, signature dining spot Cobre Kitchen + Cocktails is a classic American brasserie serving up small sharing plates, which highlight local flavours, and a vibrant cocktail menu within a slick setting featuring dramatic arched wood ceilings, contemporary furnishings, sleek marble countertops and subtle touches of copper.

Meanwhile, perched on the seventh floor, Outrider Rooftop Lounge offers posh plates and locally inspired cocktails against 180-degree panoramas of the iconic Camelback Mountain.

A design inspired by the arts community

Under the watchful eye of Dallas-based studio 11 Design, the hotel’s interiors take their cue from the surrounding area by featuring curated artworks by local artists, which sit alongside a contemporary design that stays true to the Canopy brand. This includes a Mid-Century Modern aesthetic blended with wood and metal tones, and a rich crimson and deep gold palette. A particular highlight is the signature ‘Canopy’ headboard which, here, is made from local wood and etched with copper and up-lighting, referencing the sun setting behind Camelback Mountain.

The hotel is located just a short bike ride away from various dining, shopping and entertainment options, including Scottsdale’s Museum of the West, Scottsdale Stadium and Scottsdale Fashion Square.

Mahoney added: “Within the hotel, we’ve honed in on the spirit of the Southwest in every aspect of its architecture, design, art and culture and have created a truly local experience that captures the essence of our neighbourhood whether you’re looking to work, play or rest in Old Town Scottsdale. There’s really no other new hotel like it in the area.”

The stylish property is owned by Miller Global Properties, parent company of hotel manager Mile High Hospitality. Ryan Companies was the general contractor.

For those seeking an energising experience, Canopy by Hilton is the hotel brand that creates a positive stay with its simple, guest-directed service and thoughtful, local choices.
