Shangri-La Group unveils The Moon Residence in Kunming

Shangri-La Group has revealed its latest offering, The Moon Residence in Kunming, the capital of China’s Yunnan Province.

Following the success of its residential projects in Colombo, Dalian and Yangzhou, Shangri-La Group has revealed its latest offering, The Moon Residence in Kunming, the capital of China’s Yunnan Province.

Having gained a reputation for delivering outstanding hotels worldwide, Shangri-La Group is now turning its attention to reimagining the luxury residential market. Building on the popularity of The Residences in Colombo, Dalian and Yangzhou, its latest scheme is set to open soon in Kunming. We take a closer look.

Exceptional living spaces overseen by Shangri-La Group

The façade of the 21-floor high-rise, which features a cascading glass curtain wall, takes its cues from the heritage of the local terraced fields in the region. This sets the tone for the interior, with each of the 224 units – which range in size from 64 to 351 sq m – featuring loft ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows that frame panoramic city views.

Tapping Shangri-La Group’s trademark style, the interior design has been elevated with all the trappings of a luxury hotel, including a standout indoor spiral staircase in the largest apartment. This is further heightened by smart, intuitive technology and sustainable measures like centralised air filtration and reclaimed water recycling systems.

The all-day services on offer to residents include housekeeping, security, business concierge, leasing management and membership benefits of the group’s loyalty programme, the Golden Circle.

The project is being curated, developed and managed by Shangri-La Group. A sales gallery for the residences, which will be delivered as fully furnished apartments once building work is complete, has now opened.

Kunming’s ambitious new mixed-use scheme

It’s envisaged that The Residences will sit alongside a second tower earmarked for development into one of the luxury hotels that Shangri-La Group is famed for creating. A podium between the two high-rises, meanwhile, will serve as a dynamic commercial hub, offering a range of dining and recreational spaces.

Located within Kunming’s Central Business District, the scheme lies adjacent to the metro station and not far from high-end commercial areas and prime medical and educational facilities.

Shangri-La Hotels are five-star luxury hotels located in premier city addresses across Asia and the Middle East, with future deluxe hotels underway in North America and Europe.
