Two traditional beach houses have been combined to form a new hospitality property under the umbrella of IHG’s boutique brand Hotel Indigo. We take a look inside Hotel Indigo Larnaca.

A seaside getaway for the 21st century

Cyprus has long been a popular holiday destination with people from all over the world, but this summer, potential visitors have another reason to start planning a trip to the popular Mediterranean island – the launch of a new IHG property in Larnaca. Conveniently located five minutes away from the airport by car, guests of Hotel Indigo Larnaca, which opened at the beginning of July, can easily explore the historic centre of the city as well as the nearby Finikoudes and Mackenzie beaches.

Hotel Indigo Larnaca operates under an agreement between IHG, hotel management company Sunnyseeker Hospitality and Quality Group, one of the largest land development and investment companies on the island. A new jewel along the Cypriot coast

The property brings old and new together through its design. The architectural concept involves combining two existing beachfront properties together and making several additions to create a new boutique hotel inspired by Cypriot crafts, textiles and colours.

The development boasts 40 well-appointed rooms executed in a style that reflects the local culture and heritage of Cyprus, but that also appeals to the modern traveller seeking luxury, sophistication and convenience. Its fresh, contemporary design will no doubt attract a discerning clientele who appreciate the aesthetic of the distinctive materials used throughout, such as exposed concrete walls and brushed concrete floors.

In the guest rooms, the en-suite bathrooms have rain showers like those found in state-of-the-art spas, and the picturesque balconies are framed by yellow shutters that hark back to traditional Mediterranean constructions. But the highlights of the property are surely the incredible rooftop pool and bar, where guests are afforded panoramic views out over the city and the sparkling sea beyond, and the ground-floor restaurant and wine bar, which brings members of the public and guests together in a truly stunning setting.
