Our data indicates Radisson has 87 projects and 16,730 rooms due to go live next year – here, we take a closer look at the teams behind a trio of our favourite schemes.

Durban, Livingstone and Lahore all make the cut in our roundup of Radisson Hotel Group’s most significant 2022 hotel openings, reflecting how this global hospitality giant’s continuing to expand rapidly across Africa and South Asia.

Radisson Blu Hotel Durban Umhlanga

In partnership with Oceans Umhlanga and Edison Property Group, Radisson Blu Hotel Durban Umhlanga is set to launch in early 2022. This under-construction hotel will form part of the 90,000 sq m Oceans Umhlanga high-end complex, alongside apartments and a shopping mall. Architronic, Ruben Reddy Architects and Elphick Proome Architects are behind the architectural design, with LVT Architecture – Eastern Cape looking after the interiors of the public areas and restaurants.

The landmark hospitality scheme will house 207 guestrooms and suites, along with an impressive array of amenities, such as an all-day dining restaurant, lobby bar and coffeeshop, rooftop outdoor bar and terrace, and business-class lounge. Guests will also be able to make use of its spa, gym and outdoor pool, and hold functions in 1,200 sq m of meeting and event space – including one of Durban’s largest banqueting halls.

Radisson Blu Resort Mosi-oa-Tunya, Livingstone, Zambia

Late 2022 will see Radisson gain a foothold at the Unesco World Heritage-listed Victoria Falls. In April 2021, the hospitality company announced the signing of Radisson Blu Resort Mosi-oa-Tunya in partnership with owner National Pension Scheme Authority, and the property’s currently being built at a riverside site in Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, close to the famous falls and 5 km south of the city of Livingstone.

The sustainability-focused resort, which aims to obtain Edge green building certification as well as sign the Unesco Sustainable Tourism Pledge, will consist of 174 rooms and 26 luxury villas, along with an all-day dining restaurant, coffee bar and outside boma with firepit. Guests will be able to unwind in the spa and swimming pool, make use of the gym, and network across stylish event space encompassing meeting rooms, boardrooms and a ballroom measuring more than 500 sq m in size.

Radisson Hotel, Lahore City Mall

With help from Ittehad Overseas Developers, Radisson will soon open a 400-room property in the Pakistani city of Lahore. KAA is working on the architectural design of this newbuild hotel, which forms part of a 75,000 sq m mixed-use development alongside offices, a mall and luxury residences.

Currently under construction and expected to open in late 2022, Radisson Hotel, Lahore City Mall will incorporate an all-day dining venue, specialty restaurant, rooftop restaurant and lobby lounge designed for both business and leisure. These social and relaxation areas will be joined by a spa, fitness centre and swimming pool, as well as ample event space, including a banquet hall and state-of-the-art boardrooms.

This subscription-based product includes details of thousands of hotel projects around the world, along with the key decision-makers behind them. Please note, our data may differ from records held by other organisations. Generally, the database focuses on four- and five-star schemes of significant scale; tracks projects in either the vision, pre-planning, planning, under-construction, pre-opening or newly opened phase; and covers newbuilds, extensions, refurbishments and conversions.
