The coming year will see the Virginia-headquartered hospitality giant debut almost 300 hotel schemes around the world – and here’s what to expect at three of our favourites.

According to our researchers, Hilton Worldwide is planning to launch 281 hotel projects and 58,228 rooms over the course of 2022. This means we’re really spoilt for choice when it comes to picking out a trio of exciting schemes to keep tabs on, but we’ve decided to go for an eco-friendly hospitality concept in Illinois, an upscale hotel in Malaysia and a wellness-oriented property in the Cayman Islands.

Home2 Suites by Hilton Des Plaines, Illinois

A Home2 Suites-branded scheme by developer and general contractor NexGen Hotels is expected to begin welcoming guests from the third quarter of 2022. At this newbuild five-storey property, less than four miles from O’Hare International Airport, guests can expect to find 107 suites designed for both short-term and extended stays.

These suites, housing kitchens, outdoor lounges and patio areas, will be joined by an indoor saltwater pool as well as an innovative fitness and laundry concept called Spin2 Cycle. The eco-friendly project, which will be managed by Genuine Hospitality Group, features architecture from Origination Design.

DoubleTree by Hilton Shah Alam i-City, Malaysia

The second quarter of 2022 will see the launch of a new DoubleTree by Hilton hotel within the fully integrated i-City development. It’ll feature 300 guestrooms, an outdoor pool, a games room and a spa, as well as a fitness centre and business centre. The dining experiences on offer, meanwhile, will range from Makan Kitchen, serving Malaysian specialties, to Tosca Italian Trattoria.

This SAA-designed property will offer guests convenient access to i-City, which will encompass a 1.5 million sq ft shopping mall, office towers, data centres and a convention and performing arts centre. The hotel will be directly across from i-City’s 72-acre theme park and a five-minute drive from Waterworld and SnoWalk.

Curio Collection by Hilton, Cayman Islands

The second quarter of the year will also mark the launch of Curio Collection by Hilton, Cayman Islands. This beachfront hotel on the edge of George Town will incorporate 80 spacious suites ranging from one to three bedrooms in size, in-room fitness equipment and yoga mats, and lighting designed to regulate guests’ circadian rhythms. Executive and penthouse suites, moreover, come with private pools.

Travellers will be able to dine at the onsite restaurants and poolside café, serving local seafood along with other fresh produce, craft cocktails and organic wines. Additional facilities at this property, which is being created by Hilton Worldwide in partnership with NCB Group, will include a fitness centre, spa, pool with swim-up bar and conference space.
