by Lauren Jade Hill | 09 Dec 2021 | Hotel Projects, Projects
The region’s most exciting hotel launches will accommodate guests within ambitious mixed-use developments in prominent cities across China, Australia and Vietnam.
Montigo Resorts, The Ritz-Carlton and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts are behind these eye-catching APAC openings.
Montigo Resorts, Shanghai
Expected to reach completion in the second quarter of 2022, the newbuild Montigo Resorts, Shanghai will form a key part of the integrated indoor ski resort Wintastar Shanghai by Majid Al Futtaim, the operator of Ski Dubai and Ski Egypt. Comprising four separate themed hotels, altogether housing over 1,000 guestrooms, it represents the first foray into China for Singapore-based real estate development and investment company Kop’s luxury hospitality brand.
The 227,000 sq m Wintastar Shanghai development will also house a 90,000 sq m ski and snow park and 28,000 sq m water park. The four themed properties – Montigo Luxe, Montigo Hotels, Montigo Residences and Montigo Ice – are intended to appeal to a variety of demographics from family to luxury, while Montigo Luxe will also benefit from ski-in, ski-out facilities. Mercurio Design Lab and Ecadi are behind the architectural design.
The Ritz-Carlton, Melbourne
On opening in the second quarter of 2022, The Ritz-Carlton, Melbourne will offer guests luxurious accommodation within the West Side Place mixed-use development. Marriott International is creating this newbuild property under the Ritz-Carlton brand in partnership with developer Far East Consortium. This under-construction hotel is designed to be the centrepiece of the wider scheme, which will also contain apartments, shops and public space.
The 263-key hotel will span levels 64 to 77 of a towering building, providing far-reaching views on all sides, and boast an array of amenities, not least restaurants, a spa, a pool and a gym. Its stellar design team includes the likes of Cottee Parker – Brisbane (architecture), Bar Studio (interior design), KPDO (interior design), HBA – Melbourne (interior design) and Rush Wright Associates (landscape architecture).
Wyndham Resort Beau Rivage Nha Trang, Vietnam
As part of continued efforts to heighten the presence of the upscale Wyndham Hotels & Resorts brand in South-East Asia, Wyndham Resort Beau Rivage Nha Trang will occupy part of a huge mixed-use development in the Vietnamese city. The 1,709-key scheme is being designed by Korn Architects and Arup – Ho Chi Minh City, with interiors by CPG Corporation.
The resort will consist of two 50-storey towers on the beachfront in the downtown Loc Tho Ward on 40 Tran Phu Street, placing those staying in its guestrooms and condos within easy reach of a host of restaurant and entertainment options. Currently under construction, it’s expected to open in late 2022.
