Radisson Blu and Radisson Collection take centre stage as we profile 2021’s most exciting openings at Radisson Hotel Group, which plans to launch over 100 properties globally, with help from the TOPHOTELPROJECTS construction database.

Our researchers report that Radisson Hotel Group will complete 112 hotel schemes comprising 20,178 rooms this year. We shine a light on five of the group’s most notable debuts.

Radisson Blu, Hoi An, Vietnam

Encompassing as many as 734 rooms, suites and villas, this Radisson Blu resort is set to become the largest property in the group’s APAC portfolio when it opens in Q2 2021. The resort backs onto Hà My Beach, placing it within 8km of Hoi An’s Unesco-listed town centre and only a 30-minute drive from Danang International Airport. It’s being developed by Indochina Hoi An Beach Villas Company with eco-friendly architecture by BAKH Architecture. KAZE Interior Design Studio is one of several partners working on the property’s interiors.

The expansive resort will comprise three restaurants serving local and international cuisine, a lobby lounge and a pool bar. Other facilities will include several swimming pools, a spa, a fitness centre, a kids’ club and a rooftop garden, as well as a watersports centre and a recreation centre. In addition, the property’s aiming to become a major draw for weddings and other events, with several impressive event spaces including a ballroom and a private beach.

Radisson Blu Beach Resort, Sal, Cape Verde

Due to launch in 2023 (previously 2021), this new resort is Radisson’s first on the Cape Verde island of Sal. The property is ideally positioned on Santa Maria beach; designed by DSA Architects with interiors by Darley Interior Architectural Design, its modern minimalist look seems tailor-made for such idyllic surroundings.

The 240-room scheme will house two restaurants, four bars including a rooftop venue, an 800 sq m spa and a distinctive pool design comprising various pools and lounges leading onto the white-sand beach. Moreover, the resort will be able to boast the largest conference centre in Cape Verde, with more than 1,500 sq m of events and meeting space.

Radisson Blu, Timisoara, Romania

Radisson’s latest outpost in Romania is this five-star newbuild in Timisoara, a historically rich city in the west of the country that’s slated to become a European Capital of Culture in 2023. Part of a significant real-estate project in the ISHO neighbourhood, the hotel lies within walking distance of the old town, renowned for its ornate 19th-century architecture.

Scheduled to launch in 2023 (previously 2021), the property will house 160 guest rooms along with a signature restaurant and bar concept, a 24-hour fitness centre and 1,000 sq m of event space including a ballroom. It’s being designed by Andreescu and Gaivoronschi Associated Architects and Blocher Partners.

Radisson Collection Resort, Nanjing

This new Radisson Collection resort is located within the Tangshan area of Nanjing, known for its mountains and hot springs, and forms part of an integrated tourism complex in Jiangsu Horticultural Exposition Park. It’s a prime location that means the property is just 50 minutes away from Nanjing South Railway Station and an hour’s drive from Nanjing Lukou International Airport.

Altogether, the low-rise five-star resort will comprise 151 guest rooms and suites, a swimming pool, a state-of-the-art fitness centre and a spa, along with a lobby lounge, an executive lounge, 790 sq m of event space and two restaurants offering local and international cuisine. Each space will reflect local culture through contemporary design. This stunning hospitality scheme is expected to make its debut in the second quarter of the year.

Radisson Blu Leninsky Prospect Hotel, Moscow

A collaboration with Sherwood Premier, Radisson Blu Leninsky Prospect Hotel will be a key part of a major new mixed-use office and hotel development 9 km from the city centre and 16 km from Vnukovo International Airport. Thanks to its prominent setting, this property will soon provide a luxurious base for both business and leisure travellers coming to Moscow.

On opening in 2022 (previously 2021), the hotel will provide 150 rooms and suites, alongside a range of business and leisure amenities. Guests will be able to make use of state-of-the-art meeting facilities or relax in its fitness and wellness centre, before dining in one of two restaurants or enjoying a well-earned drink in the lobby bar.

Note: The scheduled opening dates for Radisson Blu Beach Resort, Sal, Cape Verde; Radisson Blu, Timisoara, Romania; and Radisson Blu Leninsky Prospect Hotel, Moscow were updated on 15 March 2021.
