Radisson Hotel Group will collaborate with Axcel Group to create a new upscale hotel, Radisson Red London Gatwick Airport, near one of Europe’s largest transport hubs.
The proposed scheme will be located close to the terminal of the UK’s second busiest airport.
Radisson Red’s latest outpost eyes 2023 launch
Expected to open in the third quarter of 2023, Radisson Red London Gatwick Airport will comprise 185 contemporary guestrooms and a bistro-style restaurant and bar, along with fitness space and event rooms exhibiting bold design statements.
“We are very excited to strengthen our presence in the region with another Radisson Red property, bringing our UK & Ireland portfolio to 65 hotels and 15,000 rooms open and under development,” said Adela Cristea, vice president, head of business development UK & Ireland, Radisson Hotel Group. “We are grateful for the ongoing collaboration with Axcel Group, and we are very much looking forward to welcoming guests to this fun, upscale hotel at one of the most important airports in the UK.”
“We are delighted to continue our solid partnership with Radisson Hotel Group and successfully launch this upscale urban hotel at Gatwick Airport,” added Sam Patel, Axcel Group managing director. “Radisson Hotel Group is the leading international hotel group in the region and this project is a proof of our joint long-term commitment to the UK and its travellers.”
An upscale accommodation offering
The upscale Radisson Red hotel will be designed to offer business and leisure travellers a memorable start or end to any trip. It promises to deliver a playful twist on the conventional, along with a focus on technology and design.
At this property, guestrooms will exhibit the signature Radisson Red colour scheme, artwork, comfortable furnishings and wooden flooring.
On opening, Radisson Red London Gatwick Airport will become the second Radisson Red property next to a UK airport. Radisson Red Hotel London Heathrow opened in September 2020.
