Radisson Hotel Group has launched its inaugural serviced apartment hotel in Western Europe, with the debut of the Cycas Hospitality-operated Radisson Hotel & Suites Amsterdam South.

The eighth operating hotel in Amsterdam under the Radisson Hotel Group umbrella, this 227-key all-suite aparthotel provides the ideal base for both families and long-stay visitors coming to the Dutch capital.

Accommodating longer stays in Amsterdam

Now welcoming in its first guests, Radisson Hotel & Suites Amsterdam South aims to provide an inviting place to stay for longer periods, amid the canals of a leafy neighbourhood that’s easily accessible from the city’s central business district.

The upscale aparthotel is home to 227 suites across eight categories, ranging from 21 to 106 sq m in size, with in-room amenities including a fully equipped kitchen, climate control, free high-speed internet and flat-screen TV. All suites come with a walk-in rain shower, while some feature designer bathtubs and private infrared saunas.

This accommodation is joined by the 24/7 Grab & Go market, the Keuken & Bar restaurant created by Marije Richards of Richards Design, a fitness studio and underground parking, as well as bike rental and a complimentary self-service laundry facility. Cycas Hospitality operates the hotel under a leased agreement with Echo partners.

Yilmaz Yildirimlar, area senior vice president for Central and Eastern Europe, Russia and Turkey at Radisson Hotel Group, said: “We are delighted to open another highly successful Radisson Hotel Group brand in the city of Amsterdam especially during this challenging time. Our upscale, Scandinavian-inspired Radisson brand has seen great traction since the EMEA launch in 2018, and we are thankful to our partners Cycas Hospitality, who operate the property, for being part of this incredible journey.”

The aparthotel’s broad appeal

Catering for business as well as leisure travellers, the hotel houses three meeting rooms, which all benefit from natural daylight and the latest audio-visual equipment.

The Zuidas central business district is just 3 km away from the hotel, while the city centre (6 km) and Schiphol Airport (8 km) are also nearby. With convenient transport links to each, the property appears ideally suited to the growing number of travellers seeking extended-stay accommodation in this area.

“We are delighted to have opened our first Radisson-branded hotel in Cycas’s hometown of Amsterdam, and are confident that our extended-stay expertise will make Radisson’s first all-suite property in Western Europe a popular option for those visiting the city,” said Wayne Androliakos, chief operating officer of Cycas Hospitality.

“The events of the last year have really highlighted the benefits aparthotels can offer travellers. By combining classic hotel services with the flexibility of home in one great property, we’re well-placed to cater for the current demand from essential travellers and, looking ahead, for the growing demand from longer staying guests.”
