A highly coveted beach location, 150 luxury rooms and the Middle East’s first Mandarin Oriental-branded residences combine to earn this scheme Project of the Week status.

This five-star resort with branded residences development is now taking shape on the beachfront of Oman’s culturally rich capital Muscat.

A privileged coastal setting

Together with Abu Dhabi-based developer Eagle Hills, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is on track to open a five-star property in a prime location on the beach in Muscat. Mandarin Oriental, Muscat is slated to make its debut in the second quarter of 2022.

The under-construction scheme will encompass 150 guestrooms and suites, along with 155 branded residences, as well as five restaurants and bars, a Spa at Mandarin Oriental, an outdoor pool and event space.

Reflecting its location

Overall, this development will help introduce travellers to a city known for its character, charm and abundance of cultural and heritage sites. Muscat is recognised across the Middle East for having carefully preserved its natural environment, traditions and customs.

The newbuild will place guests just a 20-minute drive from the airport in a prestigious central district that offers both retail and leisure facilities. Nearby sites include the Royal Opera House, the Grand Mosque and the city’s traditional souk, Muttrah.
