Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA) has designed a new boutique hotel in LA – The Glenmark, Glendale, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel is the first full-service Marriott International property in the bustling Californian city.

Managed by Azul Hospitality Group, the 85-room Glenmark hotel is sophisticated yet approachable, with design details reflecting the location’s heritage and creative identity. We find out more.

Upscale amenities

In addition to its 85 keys, The Glenmark boasts four F&B options (a signature restaurant, a rooftop lounge bar, a speciality coffee shop, and a lobby bar), a state-of-the-art fitness centre, and 7,900 sq ft of meeting and event spaces, both indoor and open-air.

“This vibrant property will delight both guests and locals with its creative design, inventive cuisine, upscale amenities and engaging programming, while providing them with an authentic Glendale experience”, said property developer Michael Tchakmakjian, the hotel’s owner.

Embracing the LA lifestyle

With more than 40 hotels open, Tribute Portfolio is known for its captivating design and ability to create vibrant social scenes for guests and locals alike. “The LA lifestyle set can take in The Glenmark’s scenic rooftop lounge, be inspired by one of our many Instagram-worthy photo ops, enjoy local art exhibits around the hotel and indulge in a spread from our Mediterranean restaurant, Olia,” said Kevin Briggs, general manager of The Glenmark.

Marriot’s enhanced cleaning and safety measures

The Glenmark will implement the Marriott Global Cleanliness Council’s new guidelines.

As a result, its public areas will feature plexiglass shields at the front desk, while hand-sanitiser stations will be available throughout the hotel. In addition, the level of contact between staff and guests will be reduced with the help of a self-check-in service, and there will be frequent cleaning and disinfection of public areas and high-touch surfaces.
